Found this place on Google whilst hangry and what a great decision it was.It was very cosy and felt as if I walked into someone’s home. The food was cooked with love. The wagyu was delicious. They pour brandy all over it, which was interesting...The bread at the end was a fun and tasty idea too.Lovely little place.
This family is AWESOME! This is our second time here, and we will come everytime we're in Japan. The food and service are AMAZING.
Amazing food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Would love to go back anytime.
Excellent family owned Teppanyaki. Intimate space but the food had excellent flavours.High quality Kobe beef and veggies served here. Get a reservation before you show up . You won’t regret it!
Super nice Kobe beef cooked by a sweet old lady. Quality of food is top notch. Again, amazing experience.
Super nice Kobe beef cooked by a sweet old lady. Quality of food is top notch. This place is also popular with tourists.
Amazing place, we always eat here whenever we are in Tokyo. I love obaa-chan! Place is cozy and homey, staff are all so nice. I hope everyone is safe from COVID-19.
We made reservations ahead of time. The food is absolutely delicious. I ordered the sirloin set and have no regrets. They serve you the beef on a slice of bread, then toast the bread for you after. Every bite melts in your mouth. The restaurant seems to be more popular with tourists than with locals, but the food is amazing.
Perfect kobe beef. Just perfect. Don't know was it A4 or A5 but amazing
One of the most popular and best spots for Japanese Kobe beef! This stuff just melts in your mouth and the service is top knotch as well, definitely worth every star and every dollar. You'll more than likely need to make reservations and don't be late or you will be bumped. Oh and get the garlic rice, thank me later!
A truly family run business. Grandma was the cook and she was very cute making sure your food was deliciously prepared. Her son who had a head full of white hair cut the meat and her grandsons and their friends waited the tables. The wagyu was on point-melted in your mouth. Had to order the rice which was an extra 300. Absolutely loved it for the good food, friendly chat...all for only ¥8000 out the door
The counter dining experience was an absolute treat. I felt like I was eating inside their home. The cut of the Kobe sirloin was fantastic. Probably some of the best meat I’ve ever tasted
Totally worth the price! We got the striploin and fillet so we can try one of each. Both meats just melt in your mouth!
An amazing Teppanyaki experience. 😋🥩 Great food, really nice service. We tried both the Sirloin and Fillet Wagyu cuts, both were amazing. The sirloin was a lot fattier, melt in your mouth food. The filet was more meatier with a bit more chew, but tender as well. Prices are high, but the quality is there to match.
Cozy little place (reservations highly recommended) with absolutely amazing Kobe beef teppanyaki. Perfectly cooked beef and veggies. If you're looking for tasty cow, you gotta eat here.
Very good!
The best teppanyaki Better have a reservationVery friendly
This was a fun experience, in a small family-run Teppanyaki restaurant that serves a few dishes, among what the famed Kobe beef. The meat was excellent, although apparently there's only one cooking option (medium-rare). We tried the squid and that was also pretty good. At 7000JPY for 180g the whole thing is slightly overpriced, though, and we know by having experienced it a couple of days before that luxury Teppanyaki is a world apart.
Best meat I've ever eaten in my life. Not ridiculously expensive considering what you're eating, and compared to most dinning out experiences in Tokyo. Plus you can chat to the chef and his family as they're quite funny and approachable.
Kobe beef teppanyaki run by an adorable family. Grandma mans the grill at the bar. Delicious steak at an extremely reasonable price. Call ahead to make a reservation because you will not be able to get a seat. In addition to the steak you can order accompanying vegetables and side dishes such as seafood Japanese pizza. Everything is fantastic.
This restaurant is over rated. We ordered the Kobe beef but chicken and scallops tasted better. Service was good but place was small, run down and very smoky. Its not really worth the price tag and really looks like a tourist magnet with the high google rating. Beef was around 7,000 jpy per serving.
Absolutely delicious kobe beef, worth every penny
Wow wow wow. No words to describe this meal. Couldn’t ask for a better first meal in Tokyo. We’re coming back here again very soon. The staff is incredibly nice, speaks English and explains how to eat their incredible food, I would give it 6 stars if I could.
Ordered the 180 gram kobe fillet and 180 gram kobe sirloin, sapporo beer and two garlic rice and total bill was yen 18,000. Not cheap, but quite a steal with the quality that they serve.Service was good, wait staff were friendly. Food was excellent. My goodness.. the beef just melted in your mouth.. so much flavors. Have to try!
Simple, high quality Teppanyaki at a reasonable price (for Tokyo). What more could you want? We didn't have a reservation but showed up exactly at 5:30 and were seated. 5 other people showed up so if you don't have a res, this is a good time. For recommendations, get the sirloin! It's got a lot more marbled fat that just tastes so good! It just melts in your mouth. Splurge on the 180g size. Filet was nice but not as special. Finally, don't eat the bread. When your finished, they butter it and re-toast it. Delicious!Great meal and worth the hype
A quaint little place for delicious teppanyaki and great service.
The food was amazing!! We got here right before they opened as we wanted to make sure we got in. We did not make a reservation but still got a seat. If you can make a reservation great, but if not just get here early as the place only has a few seats. The chef and staff speak English and they take credit card. We got the sirloin Kobe beef and some veggies. They give three types of dipping sauces and our favorite was the salt & pepper but all were super good! The veggies were tasty and the meat—soft and just melts in your mouth. Seriously one of our best meals here in Japan! Oh they also put the food on a piece of bread and you eat as the chef cooks. The bread soaks in the juices and you eat it last! It’s crisp and buttery which is such a nice treat!
I loved this restaurant it was so delicious and I didn't want to leave. Would defo recommend!!!!!
I can't believe I forgot to review this from my trip a few months back. The food and the experience were both fantastic. The people were very, very nice. Very laid back atmosphere. Clearly family run. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food. Don't expect an upscale or elegant experience. Expect a convivial and happy crowd and delicious memorable food. I am heading back here in April with my teen son. He will go nuts for it!
Went here as a family. Awesome food and beverages, staff were amazing. So friendly and kind. Had the Kobe beef fillet - totally worth it. Food was cooked perfectly, loved the dipping sauces. Treated my 7 year old son as a very special guest - he skipped all the way home afterwards. They made his night. Would definitely recommend. Best to make reservations - we lined up before 5.30pm and managed to score a table but saw lots of people turned away. You don't want to miss this place!
Absolutely incredible experience. The beef melts in the mouth and the way it is prepared and you prepare your own sauces and seasoning is fantastic. Get there at opening 5:30pm if you don’t have a reservation. They are good to allow groups to order different meats and share- just explain and they will put in it on your bread properly. Accepts credit cards. Seeing the meat prepared and cooked is a must see experience.
Amazing food, amazing service and people. Lovely place
This restaurant located nealy Shibuya station south gate. You can eat amazing Kobe beef in this restaurant.I ever eat most tasty Kobe beef.I want to come again next time.
Great service and even better food. The vegetables were very fresh. The squid and asparagus are a must try!! The kobe sirloin is one of the best beef that has ever entered my mouth. Melts when it touches my tongue. 10/10 would come back again.
Went in June 2018 - writing a review now after recommending this place to a friend. Absolutly fantastic meal, a little $$$ maybe, but Well Worth it. Get there early or book. you will be very impressed with the selection and the meal as a whole. A family run restaurant that takes pride in the food that they serve. 5 stars without a doubt !
I’m glad I made a reservation for this restaurant. It’s not pretentious at all, come in regular clothes and be ready to enjoy Kobe beef. The sirloin set I opted for was 6500 yen. There’s three dipping options you can use - I think my favorite was the salt and pepper by a slight margin. The restaurant is family operated and you almost feel like a guest in their home. Don’t expect to speak English to the staff preparing your food, but the host/server speaks enough English to communicate with you.
Awesome family owned restaurant! Great price for Kobe beef. An experience like nothing you can find in the USA.
The coolest place for dinner in the region by far with a rich 53 year history. 3 generations run the show here with a very up close and personal dining experience. You go here for one thing and one thing only...the Kobe Beef! It’s out of this world. Your plate for the night is a piece of white bread that gets fried up with butter for the end of the night. We ordered countless amounts of kobe beef, the shrimp and vegetables. All were fantastic! This is a must visit spot if you’re in the district, book a seat at 5:30pm on the dot when the place opens to ensure you’re getting dinner that night. Otherwise, call and plan in advance.
Amazing good, great service and host speaks English. If you are visiting you should go here for some great, reasonably priced Kobe!
Amazing teppanyaki experience !! Everything was amazing, specially the service. The meat is serve in a bread and with some sauces.
For you USA tourists, this is over the top. This is Benihana on steroids. Overall experience including the quality of the food is over the top. Great owners. Squeezed half our party in without reservation. Great food. Great experience. Must visit in Japan.
It was awesome. It is definitely an experience to witness the steak preparation Teppanyaki style and to enjoy the salivary kobe steak texture, taste and how it melts in your mouth. Definitely not to be missed if you are a steak lover and are in Tokyo. My wife and daughter who are not steak lovers also enjoyed the meal. Note: Do make an advance reservation otherwise you will be turned away. I was fortunate to get 3 seats with only a day in advance booking. A couple of customers were turned away for the 5.30pm slot as they did not have any reservations. The phone number is correct for the reservation.
Great experience. The service surpasses anything you may not like about this place, no its not the most attractive restaurant, but what it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for with friendliness and warmth. The staff of this family run business really make you feel like one of their own and the next time I travel to Japan I will definitely be making my way to this restaurant again.
This restaurant is so underrated! One of the best dining experiences so far in Tokyo. The beef was really good and reasonable price. Definitely make a reservation first before coming here as it’s always busy.
Expensive but worth it, very nice juicy beef
Nice little family run place, but not what I'd call good value.Wagyu and Value aren't really compatible, sure, but the reality is I've had much better and cheaper wagyu elsewhere in Japan. The catch: most of that was outside Tokyo. But we are talking 50% cheaper for better quality, so at that point a Shinkansen ticket is almost justified. We had the chance to see 4-5 sets of cuts pass before us, and the fact is that the quality varied wildly. You could easily have received either a ¥10k or ¥100k per kilo piece, mostly luck driven probably. Absolutely go for the bigger pieces, the small ones looks sad.The place is quite small, and as mentioned by others, smoke-heavy. The hosts are great, and speak some English, which is a big plus in Tokyo. They also have managed to get a tourist cult following, which probably explains some of the price/quality woes.
Our accomodation made the reservation on our behalf however when we arrived at the time of our reservation they told us there was no reservation nor did they ask other staff members about our reservation. Furthermore, they showed a lack of initiative to arrange or accomodate a different time, horrible customer service.
Awesome beef! Child friendly. Reservation is strongly advised.
Great experience and staff. Small, tight space - be sure to make a reservation. The meat was outstanding. The vegetables were just OK, as was the bread on which everything was placed (that you eat at the end) - that's the only reason for my 4. Still recommend going.
